I come here rather often, but that is about to change, I'm fed up after today's visit. A bagel with some cheese sprinkled on top is now $3.49? Are you guys insane? Not worth it in the least. Everytime I come here, there is a variety of people running around, bumping into one another, everyone in a hurry, but no one actually doing anything. Today I stood in line for a good 5-10 min (and I was next to be served this whole time...no one ahead of me either). Everyone ran around in circles in addition to the manager. Finally I asked if they can help me, "yes one minute", few more minutes pass, no customers being served. I had to repeat my order a few times, the girl had no idea if she had the bagels I was asking for, all the while I stood there pointing to them. Finally she rang me up, and the total seemed high. I asked to her to re-check, she did on another cash register, entering same stuff and it came over $1 cheaper. Wth? I ask for a receipt, she goes to print one equivalent to a credit card receipt with just total due...while I was paying cash. I told her I wanted the breakdown of how much each item was, as I still thought it wasn't right. This took an intervention of 3 people. Geez. On a previous visit, I was being rung up for my lunch, and went to get an OJ to add, showed the lady, she rang it up. Out from the back comes the manager telling the girl "don't forget the OJ, she just went and got OJ". Thanks sherlock, I showed her, I wasn't trying to cheat you. I'm a regular here, think you would have noticed that. This place is awesome if you are retired folk (which majority of tables are filled with) cause they have free coffee refills and grandma's talk away for hours and hours. The bagels are meh at best. I just liked their cream cheese. I guess Dunkin is the way to go, and I wont wait 20 minutes in line!

A toasted everything bagel with veggie cream cheese is my favorite thing to order here. My family also loves the spinach piazza and the chocolate chip bagel with strawberry cream cheese. Prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly. Bring your own reusable coffee cup and get a large coffee for the price of a small.

I occasionally come to this joint for a cup of tortilla soup and a choco-chip bagel. They never cease to amaze my taste buds and I love that they maintain a homey feel. They also open super early which is great when you're on the run to a big boy/girl job. Everything is home-made and they throw in love. Thanks Great American Bagel!

I ordered 2 orders of lox and bagel to go for a friend who's in the hospital. I have been eating lox and bagel for the last 20 years and there is a right way to make it and there is a wrong way. When I tried to tell the girl the right way to make it she just ignored me. She toasted my bagel put cream cheese on it and then stacked tomato on it, then onion, then lox and last she tried to pour a teaspoon of capers on it which just of course rolled off. The correct way to make a locks and bagels is in this order from the bottom up bagel cream cheese capers in the cream cheese this prevents them from rolling off. Onion on top of the cream cheese because I need into when you bite into it on top will just fall off the cream cheese also helps keep the onion in place then locks and tomato on top the tomato goes anywhere else you a squeeze the juice out and mess up your bagel when it gets pinched. The girls working there look like high school girls and probably think there's no brains to making a bagel unfortunately there's a process everything had she egknowledge me when I was speaking to her I would have given you for stars but for ignoring me the attitude just bought you 1 star.

We have recently been visiting The Great American Bagel in Morton Grove. They have the freshest and tastiest bagels of anywhere around. The cream cheese (plain and flavored) is very delicious and they really slap it on! The staff is extremely friendly and they go out of their way to be sure that you are pleased. We will be going there for a long, long time.

Great selection of bagels, my kids love the chocolate chip and blueberry, but I appreciate the yummy savory flavors. They also have punch card deals, just ask, they usually hand it to you anyway and there are always coupons in the mail. We also appreciate the friendly staff.

BEST food in the universe!!! They deliver and offer a savory assortment of sandwiches and soup... the bagels are soft, fresh and also offer a variety of delicious options. Only once did I order a soup that was dry and so I seemed old but I did demand that I got that soup and no other so I prob. got last night's batch...still alright. SO great to have you in the neighborhood!

Had an awesome lunch experience here today! The prices are reasonable, the bagels delicious. Definitely beats Einstein Bros. I love how GAB's cream cheese is so light and fluffy and they toast their bagels unlike the other guys so your sandwich is nice and crispy. The ladies behind the counter seemed a little slow, but maybe it was bc of the language barrier that I has to repeat what kind of bagel and cream cheese I wanted about 5 times. I didn't let that get to me though. The establishment is very clean, the food is fresh and made to order. We didn't have to wait long at all to get our sandwiches. Definitely will be stopping by again when I'm in the area. Thanks for making my lunch Great American Bagel!

Kash the owner is amazing! He was Soo friendly. He even double toasted a brand new bagel for me when I thought mine wasn't toasted enough. Not to mention he even let us try anything. Try the Banana nut bagel with pineapple walnut double toasted. Best thing I ever tried!!

Great spot for a bagel and coffee. Way better that dd or mcd or the other chains.

I regularly call in orders for "bundles" which is bagles, cream cheese and coffee plus all the paper goods (cups, stirrers, knives, plates, napkins, creamer, sugar packets). I call with little advance notice and when I walk in 20 minutes later, my order is waiting. Eric, the owner, is typically on site. He's friendly and accommodating. Bagels are always fresh and packaged to keep sweet from savory to avoid flavor blending. I highly recommend this location.

Maximum convenience to my commute is the main reason for stopping in. The bagels are not right. While grocery store bagels miss on the side of hardness, these go the other way--they are too soft, big and bready. Exacerbating this factor is the extremely light "toasting" that their machines give the bagels. As my late grandfather would say "that's not toast, that's warm bread." Indeed, the run through the toaster imparts warmth but no discernible crispness. I have to say that the cream cheeses are good, and they have a wide selection of both those and the bagels themselves. For example, I'd never seen a spinach herb bagel, but I liked it. And an everything bagel with spinach cream cheese was the best combo that I've had here. I go savory over sweet for breakfast, and TGAB has many possible options in that category. So I'll keep stopping on days when I forget my breakfast at home (sadly frequent) but for really good bagels I will go elsewhere.

This chain used to be one of my favorites but because of this location alone, I may never eat Great America Bagel again. This location is the one closest to my office and we order food from there about once a month. It's not frequent but not infrequent either. This review includes instances from MULTIPLE visits so it's not like this was a one time thing where someone was just having an off day. First of all, they used to send a delivery driver that would make unwanted advances to the female receptionist in our office. It got to the point where she would actually ask a coworker to deal with him when deliveries were made because he made her so uncomfortable. She did call the manager and report this, was assured that they had other drivers and would not send this particular one to this location again but the next multiple deliveries, spanned over 4 months) were delivered by that same driver. They have since started sending someone else so at least they corrected that, even if it did take a long time to do so. They consistently mess up orders, forget food and the staff is never kind. When we have to call to talk to someone, they are always short and sort of rude, like we are interrupting their very important work instead of doing what they can to make sure their customers are enjoying the experience at their location. This most recent delivery was a new delivery driver and he didn't know who had ordered the food and also dropped a smoothie right outside the front door of our office. He did ask the receptionist for something that he could clean it up with but did not offer to go back and get a replacement smoothie and just told the person who ordered the food that their card would have a reimbursement put on it. I checked with that person yesterday and he said there was still no credit to his card so he'd called and they told him it could take up to 24 hours. He checked again this morning, still no credit so he called again. The person he spoke to was rude and said something about it only being $3.80. They also tried to get him to take store credit instead of just giving him his money back. He's going to have to take time out of his lunch break today to physically go to the location for reimbursement of a smoothie he didn't get to have because someone thought they could carry too many things in one trip. Something that could have been avoided by simply making a second trip. Overall, this location is awful. The service is terrible and the food is mediocre at best. Save your money, your time and your sanity and eat ANYWHERE else.

I remember going to this place when I was working in Naperville about 7 years ago. They had a punch card that they would stamp every time you would order so that once you reached a certain amount of purchases you would be given a free item. I have not found one since. A co worker of mine suggested one day that we get this for lunch, and I happily agreed. I got a Monte Crisco Melt with a chicken and wild rice soup.. the sandwich was HUGE!! Also the soup was made to perfection. Everything was absolutely delicious. They also do delivery which makes it more convenient for a mid day lunch at the office. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!!

*UPDATE* So, the owner begged me to give them another try. After a four month hiatus, I said why the heck not? EPIC FAIL The exact same thing happened. No soup in the delivery. ROTFLMFAO That delivery guy must love their soup. LOL *END OF UPDATE* Excellent food. Horrible service. When I say horrible service, I mean atrocious. The girl was so rude that I was tempted to put her eyes out, and I'm a pacifist. It's a real shame they have so much trouble getting orders correct, because the food really is very tasty. If you take the time to read through the reviews, you'll see that everyone loves the food, but hates the service. I guess the owner doesn't read the reviews, because the same rude, confused service continues. I cannot count how many times my orders have been goofed. THE LAST STRAW: After failing to deliver two soups and a fruit cup (the delivery guy left it in his car), being told we were lying by the girl who answered the phone, then being told we were not lying by John, the manager, and that our missing food was in Eddie, the delivery guy's, car, (no apology for being accused of lying by the girl who answered the phone), and being told over the course of three hours that our food would be re-delivered, and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting, I finally talked to Kash, the owner. He informed us that we would get a visit in about a half hour with a refund for the cost of the two soups and the fruit cup. A whole day shot, lots of expensive cell phone calls back and forth, two people going without lunch, and the best they can do is keep us waiting longer with the promise that we may get our money refunded for the missing food. Eddie finally came with our refund. How big of them. LOL. What a joke! NEVER AGAIN!

I've ordered here numerous times for delivery to my work here in Skokie. It's always good. They always deliver by the promised time if not earlier. There have been a couple of times that I've called with a question and sometimes they can be a little rude, but the delivery guys are always nice. ALWAYS good food and the bagels are always nice and soft and flavorful. I've had a few different types. Their cream cheese is home made and soo yummy. My favorite has to be the pineapple walnut. You definitely get what you paid for with this place. I have yet to try going to their store.

The bagels here are good and fresh. Ok... granted I've only been here once, but the bagel and the service was great. I stopped in before work and picked up a whole wheat bagel with egg and cheese, which was good not mind blowing. BUT, I bought a tomato and spinach bagel to eat later and it was amazing! They have so many to choose from you don't know where to begin. They are reasonably priced, but I did pay $2.20 for the specialty bagel, but it was so worth it!!!

I had high expectations because there's a lot of good reviews here. Today was not so great. I feel bad for the employees. Bagels don't look like real bagels, undercooked. Not like a real new york bagel. Unorganized management. "Toasted" breakfast sandwich hardly warm, even wet. Cheese solid, not melted. I think the manager needs to boost morale here. I wouldn't blame the young employees. Maybe the other days it's better, i've only been once. There's my two cents. See ya.

I, and my coworker, have been customers at this location for about two years. We especially took advantage of their Wednesday Special (a baker's dozen for $7.99). Initially, we raved about the freshness of the bagels and how well they held up for a couple of days. However, we were never really crazy about the service we got. Recently, not only has the service declined, but so has the quality of the bagels. I would even suggest that they now possibly hold over bagels from Tuesday, to sell on Wednesday for the special. We now find the bagels dry, overcooked, and they do not age well for next day eating. We're about ready to find another bagel place for our weekly favorite.

I'v never wanted to write a review about a place till now . They are great ! I ordered a bakers Dozen and that is exactly what I got . It came with napkins , plastic knives and some small plates with 2 tubs of rich cream cheese . I placed my order when we had 10/12 inches of snow this past week around new years . And Said my order would come at 6:45 . Someone rang my doorbell and called my phone at 6:46 . Amazing service ! I suggest to anyone who wants delicious fresh bagels in the morning !

In love with they're fresh baked bagels . !!!! I love the banana-nut bagel and the Oreo one is delicious . As for the sandwiches the turkey Club is pretty good. The tomazzo bagels are the most popular there . As for the staff they are very friendly and very quick . Those Wednesday specials are pretty good considering they're 1 or 2 dollars extra on other days . I really like this place it's clean, and there is a good amount of places to sit by .

Service here is top notch! I mean, it just can't get any better than it is. The friendliest staff and the manager, I believe, goes out of his way to make you happy. The bagels/sandwiches are fresh and delicious. They have a ton of choices to pick from. I've just had a regular PBJ on a bagel as well as the California Turkey sandwich. Yum yum yum... Great place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. If you are in the Morton Grove area, I def recommend coming in for a delicious meal.

The great white bread shaped bagel. These bagels had no flavor and I felt like I was just eating bread. This is not the place to go if you want bagels.

For a bagel place, this place is great! Eric, the owner, is wonderful and greets you with a smile. Lots of variety to choose from. New flavors rolled out often. Lots of sandwich and salad options and the soups are very good. They mix the cream cheese flavors in house and the cream cheese is all low-fat. I've had the delivery service and to my amazement, Eric shows up at my door. Crazy! I'd recommend this place in a heart-beat!
